Description: 

Erik Nelson is a Vice President and Currency Strategist with Wells Fargo Securities based in New York City. He will discuss the latest developments in the global economy, with a particular focus on the ongoing Brexit process, and the implications for foreign exchange markets and financial markets more broadly. Other topics will include the outlook for global trade, the ongoing U.S. yield curve debate and prospects for China’s economy.

Speaker: Erik Nelson, Currency Strategist, Wells Fargo Securities

Erik Nelson is a vice president in the Currency Strategy group within Wells Fargo Securities. Based in New York, he helps clients manage the risks and opportunities of operating and investing in the global financial markets. In addition, Erik provides daily and monthly commentary on foreign exchange through several Wells Fargo publications. Erik appears frequently on business television and in media, such as Bloomberg and CNBC, and his commentary is often quoted in financial periodicals like The Wall Street Journal.

Before joining the Currency Strategy team, Erik worked as an analyst for the Wells Fargo Economics group in Charlotte, North Carolina. Erik graduated from Wake Forest University with a B.S. in mathematical economics, and is currently pursuing an M.S. in applied economics from Johns Hopkins University.
